Don’t be constrained by time, schedules, or the exact route. You can hop on or off anywhere, whenever you like. If you have any questions, there are helpful staff in each car to advise you.
Let’s go! How to ride?
- How will I recognize the trams?
You’ll easily recognize the historical trams by their old-fashioned appearance and the route number 42.
During the operation of line 42, the traditional historical line 41 will not be operated, as the operation of both lines will largely overlap.
- How long is the route?
The route takes about 55 min.
- How often does the tram run?
Weekdays from 10:00 to 17:00 every 30 minutes, weekdays and holidays every 40 minutes. At the stops, the tram will have its own differently-colored timetable than the normal timetables.
- Where does the line go? Where can I hop on and off?
The terminal tram stop is Dlabačov. But you can get on or off at any stop along the route. The tram will stop at all stops on the route.

During this period the tram will use the detour route Královský letohrádek – Sparta – Strossmayerovo náměstí – Dlouhá třída and then rejoin the original route.

A staff member will be present in each tram and will be happy to answer your questions.
- Where can I buy a ticket?
You can buy a ticket directly on the tram or in our tourist information centers at the Old Town Hall and at Můstek or on our e-shop.
- How can I pay?
In cash or with a debit or credit card, even in the tram.
Please note that the Lítačka card is not valid on the tourist tram line.
As part of the At Home in Prague program, you can exchange your benefit points for a ticket in our tourist information centers at the Old Town Hall and at Můstek, or directly in the tram.
- How long is the ticket valid for?
The ticket is valid for 24 hours. You can take an unlimited number of rides with your ticket.
- What is the price of the ticket?
FULL FARE: 200 CZK/ 1 AHIP point
REDUCED FARES: 100 CZK, children 4-15 years old, students under 26 years old, seniors over 65 years old
Which historical tram cars are part of the program?
There will be quite a few historical cars, among the most interesting are:

Bask in the reflected glory of the erstwhile monarchy! This uniquely designed model tram will make you will feel like the Hapsburg Emperor himself!

A unique tram that has witnessed the imperial Austro-Hungarian era will win you over with its utility – it even served as a snowplough, and as a service car.
- 2172
This car brings back the golden era of the ‘First Republic’. Trundle past into the past with a past-master twin-axle tram! Enjoy the ride!
- 5002
This T1 tram car from the 1950s, inspired by American streetcar design, boasts some distinctive features. There are only two specimens in the whole of Prague!
- 6102
Is this the oldest preserved car of its type in the world!? This is the T3 model tram. Don’t miss the chance to ride in the period interior of a world-renowned tram-car!
